4 common misbeliefs about polished dressing

Hello!

During my career I worked with a lot of different people: entrepreneurs, coaches, executives, business owners, housewives and many more, and while they were completely different people, most of them had something in common: several limiting beliefs about how to present a polished and elegant image, and feel confident about themselves when they looked in the mirror.

See 4 of the most common misbeliefs I encountered below and why they are not good assumptions to have in regards to your image strategy:

  1. "I will invest in dressing better when I loose/gain some weight"

Dressing well and owning your authentic style has nothing to do with your shape or weight.

You can feel confident, beautiful and happy in your own skin regardless of the size in your clothing labels or silhouette, and when you do, it will also bring you more energy and motivation to fulfill your goals and make all your amazing projects happen!

  2. "I will only dress for myself. Don't care what others think."

Of course you should dress to please yourself: to feel confident, authentic and beautiful with what you see in the mirror.

Nevertheless, we humans are social beings and need others to collaborate, buy and sell our products or services, develop relationships and so on.

Being that so, you should also consider your target audience when you're managing your image: the right clothes, acessories and body language can help you connect and speak more easily to them, so your non-verbal communication also works for - and not against - you in your personal and professional life.

  3. "I don't have time or money to dress well."

No, you don't need expensive clothing or jewelry to have a polished and elegant image: today we can find many great options for different budgets in the stores or online!

With the right guidance and technique, you can learn how pick the perfect pieces and to create great looks in no time, that match your style, flatter your body and are aligned with your image strategy.

  4. "I can just copy the looks of other people."

Of course you can follow stylish influencers or celebrities and take inspiration from an elegant colleague, but until you find your own voice in therms of who you are and how you want to be seen in the world, you will not feel 100% confident and authentic.

There is no going around it: to develop your personal style and strong image, you have to invest in self knowledge and find out how you want to feel and what makes you, you! With time, you can even become an inspiration to others... how about that?
